« Holidays and a Short Term Car Insurance Policy   A Beautiful Home for Everyone »

by Richard Milford

This is simply put, a person that is drinking and operating a vehicle at the same time. Alcohol is usually the substance but it can be various other ones.

When you talk about intoxicants in this manner, it means alcohol, prescribed drugs, and illegal drugs. It is considered that you are under the influence if either physical or mental state are affected and impaired. You might think that it’s easy to cheat the system, but this actually includes the slightest hint of impairment. Whether it affects how you actually run or operate the motor vehicle does not matter.

Operating under the influence also means attempting or operating a motor vehicle with a blood content level of .08 percent or more. Authorities do not check and test whether this level actually impairs or affects you. As long as the device reads a content level higher than allowed, you will be convicted.

Nowadays, this type of conviction is increasing in numbers. It has caused thousands of accidents to occur and thousands of deaths. Due to operating under the influence an average of 25, 000 people die. This means that 500 fatalities occur every single week, 70 deaths each day, and1 life taken every 20 minutes. These are serious figures that everyone should think about. These accidents can be avoided 100 percent.

How far you have to drive while under the influence does not matter, because an accident can happen in the blink of an eye. For innocent, sober drivers things are just as dangerous since they never know when they will be hit by an intoxicated driver. Therefore, always keep safety in mind and take precautions, because it will help you with any unforeseen dangers.

For your and others in your car always wear your seat belt and be sure young children are in safety seats in the back. You can’t be too cautious when driving since you have to be aware around you watching out for the other drivers, since the reckless ones are on the road, also.

Nobody should ever risk driving while intoxicated. This can not be emphasized enough. Just one time and one wrong move and you run the risk of ruining your life and that of many others.

Life is too precious to put on the line. People who pass away leave families and possibly little children behind. They leave this world without a fight and is all because of someone who made the wrong decision by operating under the influence. Fun and parties are everywhere and can happen even daily, but your life just happens once. That’s why it is called a lifetime because it’s supposed to be long and fruitful.

Don’t make the wrong choice or decision. No matter what your friends may say, do not get behind that wheel of yours when you know that you are intoxicated. You deserve so much more than that.
